Happy Halloween!

Tonight we were invited to share in the Halloween Celebrations at the Plainsview Lodge in Edmonton, by my Mother's Best Friend, Rhoda. What a wonderful evening! All pictures taken with my cell phone.

First Snow Fall

Today was the first snow fall. We didn't get much, just a little reminder from Mother Nature to get ready.

October Photo Walk

I joined my "Shutterbug" Photo group for a photo walk. It was a chilly day, but the fresh air and exercise felt pretty good. Welcome to the White Mud Creek Ravine.

A passing biologist, pointed out this fungus bracket for me? Funny thing as it was right at my feet and I had just announced to them that I was heading into the trees looking for fungus..I guess I'm not as alert as I thought I was..

                                                     A lone survivor of color.

Contrasting trees.

I'm not sure why these leaves were turning black.

Some of the remaining forest seeds.

Not too sure what this is called. I will research it and update at a later date.

My favorite picture of the day. I loved the contrasting berries strewn amongst the forest floor. They were most likely dropped by squirrels and birds.

A birch tree flashes some color.

THE Ugly Duckling
Although not a beauty to the eye of the beholder, this fungal/mushroom is know as  Chaga mushroom (Inonotus obliquus) and is said to be rare and hold anti-cancer chemicals. It is making its way in the medical field as the New Hope! Very promising and again info from the passing biologist.Lots of great advantages to being out taking pictures

Out for a Fall walk.

A beautiful fall day to take a walk along the Souris River in Weyburn, Sask.

A Wolly Bear Caterpillar, the larvae of the Isabella Tiger Moth, has a reputation of being a winter predictor, however no scientific evidence has been made to support any of this notion.

A delicate seed is carried away by a wisp of wind to a new home for the spring rebirth.

Taken near Weyburn Sask. Used a tripod, but still didn't quite capture the beauty of it.

Turned around and took this shot facing west.

Summit Square Leduc

This is the view from my kitchen, bedroom and living room from my new residence, facing south.. I am on the 8th floor and am loving it. The construction is the new library.

The view from my spare room is a wee bit more spectacular. I'm so lucky to get into this apartment building.

Sunrise over Telford Lake

I am so lucky to live here in my new home. I think that my blog will have many many pictures of Telford Lake. Today I was blessed with a beautiful sunrise.
