ICE CASTLE

*Note* As I am so far behind in posting to this blog, I am starting somewhat backward. I Think I have figured out what I am doing in Light Room now, so it will be a hit and miss.

As the City of Edmonton is trying to promote WINTER, yes that is what I said, they hired a Ice Castle team from the USA to create an Ice Castle. Located at Hawrelak Park, in the City of Edmonton. As we were not allowed to take tripods in, it was difficult to take photos. Here are a few of what I think are my Best.

Not only did I love the warmth that the fire gave off, but I loved how the light changed when the young boy stood between my lens and I.

All kinds of interesting shapes and textures were found throughout this massive ice castle. Quite a feat by these artists.

 

 

Ice on Whyte 2016

Ice on Whyte is one event that I try to make it to each and every year. I am always amazed at the sculptures the artists conjure up. Such intricate details.

                                       Included the full moon for a little fun.

Weyburns Bison Herd

Within walking distance of my brothers place, there is a large buffalo herd that is being raised for food production.
