Calgary Zoo

As the Zoo suffered extensive flood damage the previous year, numerous animals were not on site, but here are a few of my favorites of the Day. One of the areas is dedicated to pre-historic times.

One of my favorite zoo animals - The Mercat - so entertaining

Interesting group of Toads. Not too sure what the black guck was dripping off them. Curious?

Only fitting that my last shot is also of a flower. Had a great couple of hours.

A Day at William Hawrelak Park

Everything is turning brown in anticipation of Winter, but look at what I stumbled upon.

The geese are starting to gather for their flight and are taking some time to rest up.

Fise World

The City of Edmonton was the only Canadian City to get this Xtreme Sport Event. The atheletes were amazing talented. I took tons of photos - These are only a few.

These are the BMX bike jumping specialists.

You can see on this fellows face, just how much they love what they do.

Skateboards also took their turns on the ramp.

The Flatlanders were for me the most entertaining to watch. Perhaps because you were able to see their entire performance. They were not allowed to put their foot down during their trick session. They had to start and maintain themselves during their series of tricks. Awesome.

This is all you can make out of this Flatlander as he does this incredible spin.

Each event was a timed event and contestants were allowed to do as many tricks they could in the time allowed. They were awarded points according to the difficulty of the trick. A very exciting event to attend.

Road trip to Elk Island National Park

With Fall fast approaching I decided to take a trip to Elk Island, hoping to catch some beautiful fall colors. However, things weren't as I was hoping. I think I may have been a little too early.

I have no idea the story behind this, but couldn't resist it.

As the sun was starting to set, I managed to grab a little red.

These chairs await you. They are located at All the National parks and have became a photo point of interest for many.

Kaleido Family Art Festival

The Kaleido Family Art Festival is a FREE festival held in the city of Edmonton. There is plenty to see and do as this is an interactive festival.

These brightly painted tires provided entertainment and creative enjoyment for Children and Adults alike. Each time I passed by them, they were arranged differently becoming their own piece of art.

Clowns were abound at the festival

This Art Installation was created by the many volunteers from our photo group. Photos of people were taken free throughout the day and placed on the side of the building. Two boy admiring the work. People were allowed to pick up their photos later in the day as a momento of the event.
