Last day of November

Beautiful Hoar frost on this last day of November.

I would have loved to have gotten a better shot of this, but the fellow was running and truthfully I wasn't prepared for that.

The boardwalk on Telford Lake

This has always been a curiosity to me? If its creative art than it is understandable.

Another view from my apartment of Telford Lake. I used this photo on my Xmas Cards this year.

Christmas in the Park

Devon's winter festival promotes its Luminary. What you see is actually a view of a maze of candles. In order to get this photo, I had to hike up a candle lit path.

Led Dancers were part of the entertainment

Whoa! - slow down there! This is a 1944 fire truck that they take people around in the park. I couldn't resist using my light painting skills to capture this photo.

Devon's main street is lit up for the Festive Season

Santa Claus Parade - Leduc

Tonight was a good example of why I need more practice at night photography.

                                       Thank goodness Art is subjective.

Lots of things "Not to Do" could be demonstrated with this shot.
Notice the light preceding the vehicle.  Technically speaking the Flash fired
as the shutter opened (front curtain sync).

Festival of Trees

Some of the beautiful decorations adorning the trees @ the Leduc annual Festival of the Trees. Trees are decorated by donors and then auctioned off as a Fund Raiser.

Busy Photowalk Day

Today is one busy day taking photos. Our photo group is having their monthly photo walk along the North Saskatchewan River Valley. This time of year, the scenery is drab and with today being cloudy, it was somewhat of a challenge. The first photo made me think about how scary this place could be at night..

"Shall we go out into the woods today?"

Great display of Bracket fungus

All is Bright on 124 is a winter festival put on by the businesses on 124 St in Edmonton as a kick off to winter and was my second photo walk stop of the day.

Lots of great Entertainment

These people are promoting the Canoe Festival which is held in Feb.

Fire Dancers are always a crowd pleaser

Business' were strutting their decorating talents.

A really FUN event!

A Night of Light

Having a little fun with the Light Painting Group

"Oh Xmas Tree" (Using DIY saber light)

Looks like an umbrella ( Burning steel wool)

Holding a blue light while spinning the wool.

Xmas lights - set WB to tungsten to eliminate some of the noise caused by the
City Lights

We started adding a little lighting to the trees

Did I say I could draw? Used a white string of Christmas Lights.

Elk Island & Super Moon

What a way to start the Day - Telford Lake

Then a beautiful Day at Elk Island National Park. The Bison were very active today.

The Beavers are busy getting ready for winter and were popping up through the ice like the game "Wack a Mole". So cool to be there to experience this event.

This particular Super Moon is apparently the closest it has been in 70 years. Catching the pine tree silhouette was a bonus.

A day at the Edmonton Zoo

The weather has been fantastic - today 17degrees C. I thought I should take advantage. Got a lucky shot with "Lucy" our elephant. The sea otters are checking her out.

The "Eyes" have it.

"Hoo you lookin at?"
