Northern Lights Classic Ballroom & Latin Dance Competition

Today I got to spend the day at the dance competition. This is an annual competition and was held at the Central Seniors Center in Edmonton. The attire was beautiful and the dancing incredible. A very enjoyable day! The lighting was very difficult to work with and I used both of my cameras. This is with my Nikon S6300 point and shoot.

The following pictures were taken with my Nikon D3100 - quite a bit of difference in the clarity of the photo.

This is my favorite picture of the day.

One of the youth couples competing in the Latin Dance - so hard to capture on film due to their speed and my inexperience.

Evening snow fall

Trip to Edmonton, Alberta. Thought I would take a pic of the city skyline. It is so pretty at night.

While driving home the snow started falling harder. I love how my new camera catches the falling snow.

Lighting effects

I decided to return to the country road to take pictures of the same windrow as yesterday to see how the lighting would have a different effect on the pictures.

Brrrr Cold

Today was a beautiful sun shiny day, however -25degrees. This is a windrow on the side of a country road. I loved how the snow and the blue sky contrast.

No wind as you can see by the rising smoke.

Did you ever notice?

Did you ever notice how the lid to a disposable coffee cup - looks like a face? And this is what boredom looks like......

Home

Well, I arrived home yesterday, however with the time change etc I didn't take any new pictures. I was too busy catching up on sleep. I will be posting pictures that I took over the past couple of weeks of my Australian Adventure. The picture that I am posting today, is the wonderful warm Welcome home that I received from my super sis Bernice and my brother Stu...

Saying Goodbyes

One last picture with my dear friend Jan before leaving for the airport.
