Along the Brisbane River

The City has so many architectural appealing structures. This first one is actually a step fountain that is set between the stairs leading from the street to the river boardwalk. There are lots of bars and cafes running along the river.

Skyscrapers containing offices and condos are prime real estate along the Brisbane River.

This is the City Cat, which is a transportation system that runs along the river. It costs $6.20 for 2 hours and there are several drop off spots, covering a fair distance. I love the fact that if you just wanted to go for a boat ride, this would be the way to do it.

Patterns

We lost a day going over the International Dateline - so lost one day of my life..On our first day of our trip I found myself  focusing on patterns.

This is the entrance to the bathrooms at the Vancouver International Airport.

These rental bicycles in Brisbane were quite unique.
Helmet included

Beer Anyone?

A view of the Brisbane River. The City Cat is a transportation system that operates along the river. Cost is $6.20 per 2 hour trip, so you can easily go on a leisurely ride on the river. Also in the foreground is a paddlewheel boat that is used for River tours.

On my way today!

Well, I am up early and excited about getting on the plane and heading out to Australia. I couldn't resist  running out, though to get a picture of the beautiful  sunrise - the colors were changing fast.

Today, I thought I would share a little Face Book Humor as I prepare for my departure to Australia tomorrow. I shall be MIA for a couple of weeks from this blog, however I will still be taking my picture a day, perhaps even more...

Winter!

It was an extremely beautiful day today, although it started cloudy and snowing, it cleared off at noon and went to a balmy 5 degrees C. Almost a tropical heat wave. I took these pictures at the golf course. Loved how the snow is so pristine and pure....makes you just want to romp thru it..

Found this little guy in my ventures - so cute!

and the Icicles, well they were a melting...

Hodgepodge of weather!

Today, we had quite the variety of weather systems, 0 degrees with a  couple of snow flurries. It made for some interesting cloud systems. The moon is in the sky at the same time as the sun at this time of year.

I played with some post editing settings in order to get this more defined contrast. I wanted to enhance the whispiness of the upper clouds.

Another angle of the moon, taken from the golf course, here in Leduc.

Finally, I have been working on trying to get a starburst for over a year now - Now I'm happy.

WEM Patterns

Today, I was shopping at North America's largest indoor mall. I took my P&S camera along and while stopping for a break, started noticing the cool patterns. I just love how the ceiling reflects in the water here. There are so many different patters located at the mall, that I am now looking forward to my next trip.

By turning this picture and using a red filter I achieved a different perspective.

This caught my eye. I did it in color as well, but preferred the black and white.
