Early starts on road trips, do have their perks. Amazing sunrise this morning near Wood Mountain Provincial Park.
This is ranch country as the land isn't much good for anything else. Who can resist an old abandoned car?
The American border is only a couple miles from this view point. These valleys were a well know hang out for horse thieves and bank robbers back in the day. Traditional Native effigies & tee pee rings are also very prominent in this area.
This is a prayer pole. Many native people come to this spot from Canada and USA to pray for their ancestors. Ceremonial ribbons are tied around the pole.
Castle Butte
View of the valley north of Castle Butte.
After a long day of driving my last stop was the Petroglyphs located at St Victor, Sask. They are now fenced off to protect them, however normal weather patterns are gradually eroding those that are left. Look closely and you can see some of the remnants of stone carvings - animal paws, aliens etc.
